Field Trial Results & Data
Our customers send us the results of field trials, their observations, and test results as they become available. We conduct numerous soil analyses to assess the impact of our products on a client’s soil and identify necessary future actions.
Real-World Soil Analyses and Product Performance Data
VITAL Blend 5M BioChar Blend
The test results showed a 97.2% increase in summer microbe density and an average overall microbial population increase of 59.6%. The VITAL Blend biochar blend application increased the survivability of the microbes by providing “accommodations within the soil,” which ultimately improves soil health, nutrient density, and crop production.
These field trials also demonstrated the seasonal changes that occur in the soil’s microbial populations. This phenomenon has been previously observed and is due to factors such as temperature fluctuations, moisture content, and plant exudate activity.

Data was collected between 2022–2024 from soils on Southwest Michigan blueberry farms. Soils are predominantly a light, sandy loam. The testing tool used to calculate fungal to bacterial ratios was the microBIOMETER (from Prolific Earth Sciences).

Why This Matters Agronomically
Typical soils behave like a checking account — withdrawals exceed deposits. With GRATEFUL Blend, your soil behaves like a savings account — deposits exceed withdrawals.
That means:
>Nutrient cycling is outpacing nutrient removal
>Microbial mineralization is active and steady
>The amendment is not just feeding plants — it’s feeding the soil system
>You’re building carryover fertility into next season
You’re breaking the annual “apply → deplete → reapply” cycle
